er went into explaining the methods that helped them to develop the article using realistic events and detailing that violence does not differ in gender because nowadays girls are not protected from the violence within their city because of their gender versus to boys. They are both targeted in the same sense of being affiliated with violence. As you read closely to the article, (Collins, 2004), made it known that because young men are continuously in and out of correctional facilities they are most likely to become accustomed to the” code of the street, prison and youth culture”. They do not want to be aimed as ‘weak’ individuals because most of them are working class men who just wants respect and to be recognized. The purpose of this article was to describe that inner-city girls are not isolated from violence as people would usually think that they are but they are just intertwined as the young males.
