Introduction
Purpose
This report will indicate the similarities and different about the impact of urbanization process between Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Bangkok (Thailand).

Background
Ho Chi Minh City, which is also called popularly Saigon, was established by the exploration of Nguyen dynasty. When Saigon was under the occupation of French from 1887 to 1901, it had been called the “Pearl of The Orient” (Lady Borton, 2012). Since that moment, Saigon became one of the capitals which played a pivotal role in Southeast Asia. In this day and age, Ho Chi Minh City has the largest size of population and highest level in urbanization in Vietnam. And it is the most important part of economic potential as well and the center of education and culture in Vietnam. The urbanization process makes the breakthroughs in economy, but it causes some issues, for instance, the polluted environment, low standard living condition, the conflicts in convention and so on.
From 19th century, Bangkok, as a capital of the Kingdom of Siam, had a steady development based on the extension of marketing. The explosion of the economy in Southeast countries persuaded the multinational corporations to invest in Bangkok in 1980s – 1990s. Currently, Bangkok is the center of economy and policies in its region. It becomes a mark in fashion, art, entertainment, healthcare and especially tourism. As challenges of urbanization process, Bangkok has to face with these troubles such as inadequacies in urban planning, the abilities to prevent the natural disasters, etc
