Setting
The setting in which the story Miss Brill took place is in France. In a vague town, Miss Brill goes to the Jardins Publiques. The means quite naturally the Public Gardens. In the Jardins Publique, a band plays to which she decides to go to the gardens to hear the music with regularity, as they played louder upon the day of the story than on the past Sunday. In the garden, Miss Brill has a unique seat from which she appreciates listening to the music and watching the other people in the park. Upon the day of the story, two other people are already seated in her special seat.

Characterization
Miss Brill is sweet and short, and seemingly plain. In the story Miss Brill is characterized as an older British woman living in France. Miss Brill is a round character with various sides. In the start of this story, Miss Brill seemed to be a part of the most upper class and her Sunday afternoons in the Jardins Publiques particularly during the Season (Perrine’s Literature 98). Despite, Miss Brill likes her time in the gardens for reasons that go past the casual conversation and social parts of the Sunday gatherings. Miss Brill anticipates conversations with other individuals in the gardens because she felt as if she was sitting in on their lives for just one minute. It was as though she was delighted to be living in their life for the moment because she felt as if her life wasn’t sufficient enough. Miss Brill also is quite perceptive while in the gardens. She feel as though the people in the park are part of an enormous play (Perrine’s Literature 99).

Plot
The plot of the story all starts when a young couple arrive and share Miss Brill's bench. Miss Brill trusts they are pleasantly dressed and warmly pictures them as the "heroine and hero" of the big play. Even so, she overheard the boy make a discourteous remark about Miss Brill being a "stupid old thing", and the young girl agrees with the young boy, "It's her fu-fur which is so...
