The Fight Over Guns in America

There are many different points of view on how people think about gun control in America, some think it has a beneficial use because it protects us from intruders while others thinks that most mass shootings are caused by the people being able to buy the gun anywhere.
Charles W. Collier has a mixture of opinions on gun control but Charles seems to stand more on the side where gun control should be banned because in that article, Charles W. Collier define guns for killing people instead of using it to protect yourself. In that article, Charles W. Collier describe three people both involved in a mass shooting and killing innocence. All of them had advance weapons that is used by troops in Afghanistan. Charles describe these events as "tragic". Charles also thinks that if the United States don't ban guns then "it is presumed to hurt more innocent lives and cause more mass shootings."(Collier 84). Charles then went back to one of the victims that was killed by an armed shooter, he went into full details, basically saying that the shooter was racist and that he has other things on his mind as well. Note, the victim was an unarmed black teenager. Charles then talked about self-defense and why it is a bad thing. First, Charles argues that reality will see it in a complex way. Second mistakes will not be able to be undone. Charles then went on other mass shootings that occurred and went into full details as well, basically saying most of them are "madman" then telling the audience why. Finally Charles thinks "...those who wield weapons will be in the best position to express themselves freely and forcefully on such matters."(Collier 86).
Some of Charles points seems relevant and it somewhat matches my views on gun control as well. I agree that most mass shootings are occurred because they were able to buy a gun, mostly anywhere.
