I am Duc-________, a candidate for enrollment at the Stevens Institute of Technology. I am writing this letter to express my great interest in attending the Master in Business Administration (MBA) for Spring 2017 academic year. While members of my family pursue careers in the medical and educational fields, I developed a strong proclivity for economic and business since young age. This initial interest evolved into a lifelong commitment to the profession and led me to enter the Foreign Trade University (FTU), a most prestigious institution in the country, in the year of 2008. As an International Business Administration major at FTU, I went the extra miles to broaden my knowledge of business management. My efforts to apply innovation into the field of business organization earned me high regards from fellow students and professors alike, especially in courses such as Human Resource Management, Financial Management or Strategic Management.
Beyond the competitive academic environment, I also partook in multiple extracurricular activities to harness life skills and consolidate my professional network. I joined the Student’s Association in 2008 to act as a mediator between the students and the university’s administration. As such, I collaborated with other members of the association to organize seminars, competition, and career fairs that benefited the student body as a whole. My most proud achievement, however, was to direct the Art Club of FTU. Prompted by a passion for music and the arts in general, I arranged a series of performances during my 4 years at the university and elsewhere. Consistently, I sought to apply creativity and innovation to these activities. Performances that came out of the initiative combine the heritage of Vietnamese folk music with contemporary trend in composition to create a unique genre.
