Stuart Little as the Sacred Child

I think that Stuart Little best represents the sacred child and the child as a miniature adult. Stuart Little is shown as a sacred child because he is able to use his characteristics to solve problems. For example, in chapter one, Mrs. Little lost her ring down the bathroom drain and could not get it out on her own. Because Stuart Little was two inches tall he was small enough to help. He used his small size to his advantage and retrieved the ring from the drain with Mr.Little's help as well. Stuart Little's talents can be used to help his family when it comes to small tasks. Stuart Little is shown as a child as a miniature adult because of how he is able to handle challenges and responsibilities. For example, in chapter 11 Stuart was volunteered to substitute for Miss Gunderson's classroom. This shows his ability to care for others and handle the responsibility of running a classroom on his own. Another example of this would be Stuart Little's decision to run away from home. In chapter 10 Stuart shows that he can be independent and live on his own. By doing this he will be able to start new adventures and handle the challenges on his own. I liked reading your take on those two scenes you used as examples for your response. We have similar views in regards to their interpretations. I think, though, that more than being a sacred child, Stuart might have been a romantic child. It is interesting to think of how and why we would have different takes on a particular character in a story, and it is interesting to think of all the ways in which we, as readers, could have read the story differently due to our own personal differences. Perhaps I believe that Stuart is a romantic child because I want him to be, the title of it sounds pleasant, or simply because I see him under a different light. Perhaps you see Stuart as a sacred child because you see a big difference in the way the two sons are treated, between Stuart and George, or just because...
