Discourse Analysis
Discourse analysis is an examination in global and local context. Discourse is a social examination form in the social and cultural context naturally, and the language users are not isolated from their identities. Discourse analysis and layers of discourse are related to each other, and one follow to the other. Discourse analysis is seen as an approach or method used to analyze how larger units of speech are structured. A lot of researchers and language users concern about two types of questions and their connection to the meaning: What does this situation mean? And Why did it said in this case or What does it mean? Language, discourse, and communication are rules of administrative activity. This includes both grammar rules and also the base of smooth communication. Furthermore, actual discourse studies do not include an emphasis on sure grammar rule (Brown and Levinson 1987; Grice 1975). According to Schiffrin, Tannen, and Hamilton (2003), one can undertake a discourse analysis with a view to determining how sentences create a text by fitting together; and to determine the genre of discourse (i.e., an announcement, a poem, a speech, etc); to figure out how often information has been repeated. Schiffrin, Tannen, and Hamilton (2003) identify discourse analysis as an approach to analyzing language "beyond the sentence". It is not chiefly concerned with studying grammar, meaning (semantic), morphology, phonetics, and phonology like it are the case with modern linguistic.
