Sexual Assault on College Campuses

7 Pages 1817 Words December 2017

Executive Summary
This proposal identifies one major issue that his administration and the University of Platte Valley student and faculty must address. The issue of sexual assault and rape has become an increasing problem all over this campus. Upon analyzes of the data, facts, and statistics I point out who is primarily at risk of being a victim, how to prevent and how to respond effectively to victims when a violent act occurs. I also have outlined a program entitled Prevention, Response, and Treatment of sexual assault (PRTsa) program to provide this administration with a unique and innovative way to combat rape and sexual assault. This program does coordinate both on campus and off campus resources as necessary to provide swift discipline for the attacker and closure, healing, and the proper treatment to begin for the victim.

• In both the dormitories and off-campus housing, university and community police have noted a 12% increase in the reporting of sexual assault or rape on campus during the last academic year.
• We currently have approximately 4,000 females registered in undergraduate courses at University of Platte Valley (UPV). That means 107 women on this campus have the potential of being raped or sexually violated while attending this institution.
• The Department of Education will become involved only after the egregious case of rape or violence has been reported to the media and the authorities.
