Bostonians and the Train (T)

There is no appeal in waiting at the train station for what seems like forever for the public train, commonly known in Boston as the T, to arrive. Neither in the freezing cold of the winter nor in the unbearable heat of the summer is it ever pleasant to catch the subway to go to the other parts of Boston. Genuinely, I think that I have never really enjoyed my experience on the T, ever. That was until I began to notice the different types and classes of people that gathered at the same place to go about their day and the hidden messages that these seas of people carry. The T is a place where you can see very personal and inclusive details about Bostonians just by the way they look, or talk; it also shows how diverse Boston is as a city.
You could almost never get intrigued by something or anything while riding the T. Most people would either have their headphones on and keep staring at their phones, praying that the ride would somehow end faster or just keep talking to their friends/classmates/colleagues until they get off. I usually just keep my eyes glued to the screen of my phone to avoid any kind of awkward public transport contact with strangers. That is why I did not really enjoy my experience on the T that much. As I was avoiding the people around me on the train like the plague, I started to pay attention to how dirty the seats, poles and/or any surface area on that particular train must have been, how the squeaky noise of the train tracks just ruined my entire day and probably a thousand more things that threw me off about public transport, the T in this particular situation. I could never get the feeling of the rusted, greasy and fingerprint-covered vertical poles out of my head, also that one time with the puke-colored stain on the cushion seat of a red line train. All of the negative thoughts about the train started stacking up and before I knew it, I have decided that I strongly disliked the T. I was steering clear of the T...
