After watching the documentary of Kony 2012, I knew more about Kony and LRA. It has a very strong purpose. It was very successful. In the video, I saw some advertising technics. Which is a very good thing. So who is Kony and what is LRA you are about to find out.
Joseph Kony was mentioned in the video that he was one the list of criminals and he was first. He is from Uganda. Born on September 18, 1961. LRA was started in 1987. He started to take children from their parents then he gave him guns and force them to kill their parents. He takes away the children and trains them as warriors. Even today he is still doing that. There are over 300,000 children that are in the LRA. The goal of LRA is to overthrow President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda then, create his interpretation of the biblical Ten Commandments. LRA now is not only in Uganda but always other places such as Congo, South Sudan, etc. Today we still don’t know what the future would be like for LRA.
The purpose of the video is to help the children in Africa from Kony. The video was made by the Invisible Kid. In the video, they included a boy who himself is running from the LRA. He told us about his life. Then the Invisible kid goes and helps all the kids who are like him. They had a lot of people voluted in action. But this video is to ask for more people to join them. More people to notice that the kids are now in danger. To let people raise money to support them to take action. Also, they wanted the government to be more involved in the action.
It was very successful because after they video Kony turned famous. Everyone started to know a little about him. Through all these years the Invisible Children had reached a lot of jails.
