Abstract

Drone use in Australia hasn't reached to drastic measures, yet. Drones have become a huge controversy in Australia. It simply began with individuals, but now companies and even the Australian military have gotten involved with this new technology. There has been a bit of speculation towards the leniency of these drones and the rules around their use. Due to no set laws against drones, there are no adequate legal or illegal actions that individuals take into account. So, basically, unless a major occurrence or, to the extent, a death arises no individual (private or not), company or government agency can be legally convicted but can be fined if caught for abusing the use.

Introduction
What are drones being used for in Australia and why is it becoming a problem?
To fully understand the legal problems, one must understand why drone use is becoming a problem; what are the contributing factors? The Sydney Criminal Lawyers found that the main contributing factors included: privacy rights, military virtue and public safety. When these contributing factors are combined, it becomes clearer as to why we're hearing and seeing so much about drones being risky. Another major factor is the rules entwined which continues to play a central role in the use of drones in Australia. At it’s worst, the use includes misjudgment, abuse of the drones against Australian citizens as highlighted in a 2015 report by EFTM titled “$850 Drone fine: CASA using YouTube to identify illegal drone use”.
