Short Story: A Developed Soul

I feel as if I always knew it, but my mom surprised me with a trip that confirmed how I felt on the matter. It was an eye-opening experience for me. Although I was a kid and didn’t know very much, I knew that what happened on this day was going to awaken a new element in my personality that was going to stick with me forever. There was so much excitement, joy, and happiness. I could feel it all in the air. When my mom took me to an amusement park for the first time, I knew I was meant for a lifestyle of fun and adventure.
The smell of funnel cakes, the big splash of water, the popcorn all over the ground, the long lines of people waiting to get on the rides, I just knew my experience was real. I can remember the excitement I felt as we first walked through the beautiful entrance of Astroworld. I was just so ready to take off running and get into everything I could, like the average kid. Of course, my mom wouldn’t allow it. I couldn’t describe the vibe I was getting, but it felt close to kid heaven. This very day provided the foundation for the fun, adventurous characteristic that resides inside of me. Like every other mom that doesn’t know what she’s doing, she goes into panic mode and gets stressed and frustrated because she doesn’t know what's going on and is unfamiliar with the place. Kind of a buzzkill at first, but once she set up the itinerary for the park, things went a lot smoother. She’s afraid of heights, so she went on all the “baby rides" with me. Although, some of those “baby rides” weren’t baby at all. I mean, what kind of ride shoots kids three hundred feet in the air? I can only begin to reflect on the feelings I had during the duration of these rides.
