As new technology and innovations manifest themselves in the ever-improving advanced world, new products become out to satisfy the consumer masses. However, the saying goes “out with the old and in with the new,” not “keep and toss thoughtfully.” So where do the old home computer and phone go? It is a variable that usually skipped about as customers turn over old, used items. As it turns out, much of the e-waste that is throw away is sent off to emerging nations to be placed and processed. As companies sell off their e-waste to developing countries, their disposal cost is excessively cheaper than if they were to deal with it in-house.
Nevertheless, it claims that it defies conventional morals by enabling workers to work in such hazardous conditions. It would be negligent in taking away this economic outlet that so many people rely on, and it would be ignorant to blame companies for such shoddy work conditions when all they do is sell the product. However, what is E-waste? It is electronic waste disposal currently has many unfavorable effects on the environment and health of humans. The popular methods of disposal are hazardous for the people involved in the process and the environment as a whole. Many electronic waste materials are highly toxic and can create serious health problems. E-Waste or electronic waste defined as “computers, TVs, PDA’s, light bulbs, batteries, radios, and cell phones.” More reliable methods of disposal, such as recycling, are possible. However, these methods are not universally used. The current circumstances of electronic waste disposal are outmoded and dangerous; alternative solutions would raise the quality of life for disposal workers and enhance the environment by decreasing the production of toxic waste byproducts.
