The Dangers of Energy Drinks

What do you do when your body is completely exhausted, and you have a ton of work ahead of you? Some may retreat for a brief nap; most people turn to energy drinks for a quick and swift boost. An energy drink is a soft drink, which contain ingredients like caffeine. The caffeine is mainly designed to boost our energy and offer metabolic or central nervous system stimulation. Many of the ingredients in energy drinks especially caffeine can cause harm to our bodies. Many of the drinks that we all know and every once and a while consume contains two times more the amount of caffeine our bodies needs within a day.
Energy drinks have been around since the late 1900's and early 2000's. The first energy drink was actually introduced as a medical tonic drink, that consisted of essential vitamins, taurine, and niacin. Over time, the ingredients and the name of each drink would be changed due to big companies. Soon enough B vitamins, Ginseng, Gingko Biloba, Guarana, Sugar, sugar substances and caffeine were added to the mixture of energy drinks. Too much of any of these substances can cause harm to your body. Still, caffeine alone with high volumes can cause damages such as heart arrhythmias, anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, high blood pressure, gastrointestinal upset, seizures, tremors, nervousness, agitation, headaches, and hallucinations. In today's time, energy drinks have been one of the hot topics in the media. With their high percentage in caffeine, new ingredients we barely know about, and the addicting taste that they consume we now have a new danger casted upon ourselves.
Within the last decade these drinks have caused more harm than good to our society. Both our youth and adults are falling ill or dying to a substance that is not supposed to be a danger to us. Many people don't know the effect that energy drinks possess over us, so they consume four times the normal amount our body needs. Sadly, in many cases that are arising today ...
