Such as; weapons, night vision goggles, weapon optics, LLDR components, vector components, vehicle parts and equipment, and any piece of equipment or tool necessary to maintain mission capability and/ or success. A soldier must also have the ability to maintain accountability for his or her soldiers appointed under them. An example of this in garrison would be a platoon, battery or battalion level layout. During this layout a soldier must not only know what equipment is needed for the layout, but also where each piece of equipment and or gear listed on the standard of performance for the layout is. Not only must a soldier be responsible for where the gear is and what gear is required, but a soldier must also be responsible for the state of the equipment and organizing the equipment in accordance to the standard of performance.
An example of the necessity for accountability of equipment and gear in a field environment would be; when the time comes to mobilize to a new area of operation to another or to return from the field. Each soldier must account for his or her own teams gear brought to the field. Including anything from camouflage netting to; weapons, e-tools, sandbags, batteries, nods, etc. Any gear left behind risks potentially losing and or damaging the items.
