Is the United States' Election Process Fair?

The elections and some other political processes form the backbone of any country’s effective governance and, therefore, are likely to advance significantly or maybe setback the country's long-term development alongside its global and regional policy priorities. And thus, for such achievement to be made possible, the election processes have to be fair, accountable, inclusive, and should offer equal opportunities for free and fair competition during the elections. Thus, the electoral cycle approach offers a perfect depiction of the elections as a continuous and more integrated process that involves building the blocks that favorably interact with one another, instead of offering a chain of isolated events. In that connection, therefore, in my view, the election process needs to be fair because of the following reasons. A fair election process is highly essential as it is associated with a voice and freedom of people. It allows the citizens to speak in a fair manner about the elections. While fairness is adopted, it gives both competing sides alongside the unions an opportunity to be fairly and freely formed, thus giving the people a perfect chance to elect leaders of their choice, with their discretion. In this case, the election process, especially in the United States, is fair as it ensures the voters can fairly exercise the franchise, where they are sufficiently allowed to do so (Monnet). This builds their confidence in the entire electoral process, as it accurately offers a reflection of their choice.
The election process is fair because it is closely monitored under the context of the ongoing developments, political transitions, and debates. According to Monnet et al., this significantly helps to build their confidence regarding the electoral process (Monnet).
