Oratory Speech - My Family

Many people say that childhood is the most memorable part of your life you’re probably always going to remember the day when you were able to use your bicycle without the training wheels after attempting many times and all those times busting your butt. Or your first time going to kindergarten begging your mom not to leave you there with those strangers. Or remembering all the times the tooth fairy left you money or candy under your pillow.
Growing up being the only girl in the family, having 3 older brothers and being the youngest was difficult when you have a mom that expects you to do everything any other little girl would do such as playing with dolls and other girly stuff. From what i remember I only had 2 or three dolls that always ended up in my closet and never being played with. When I’d be playing outside with my brothers and friends I would ALWAYS fall and get hurt. I’d either scrape my arms or knees sometimes i would even tear my jeans. I would be so terrified to go home and see my mothers reaction, i was afraid of her saying “you can’t go play outside anymore because you’re not careful enough !” or “why can’t you just stay inside and play with dolls!!” I loved playing outside with my friends riding bikes, playing “cops and robbers” hide and seek, tag, etc so every time i would get hurt i was always scared my mom would be furious that i wasn’t inside playing with barbies like any other little girl. But little did i know that my mother had bigger problems than me falling and tearing my jeans.
My grandfather had cancer and was nearly dead, she suffered with breast cancer for several years and still managed to work two jobs until she couldn’t handle it anymore. My oldest brother was diagnosed with a brain dysfunction at 16, my two other brothers failing in school, being escorted home by the police, my father working hard doing his best to provide everything for us and barley being home.
