Why Abortion Should Be Illegal

In North America, 186 of 1000 pregnancies result in an abortion. The removal of a fetus or embryo can lead to mental and physical health problems, a lesser value of human life and family, along with a decrease in adoptable babies.
To start, abortions have caused a great contribution in the mental and physical health. First of all, health editor and reporter from the ThinkProgress indicates that “47 000 women die every year due to unsafe abortions” (Tara Culp-resler, 2018). With that being said, by escaping parenthood, these women are putting their life at quite a risk. Furthermore, those who survive may serve the same fate. For example, Live action news state that “women who have aborted are more likely to commit suicide” (Sara Terzo, 2013). This proves that women who abort are not only at a mental but also a physical risk. Thirdly, women health is not the only one affected by miscarriage. On April 1988, the journal of social and clinical psychology found that 51% of men report regret, 45% felt sadness and 25% experience depression. This research proves that abortions can affect more than just females. To sum up, as the mental and physical health problems affect women and men, those who consider aborting should consider these factors.
Furthermore, all these thrown away could be given the right of life as there has been a decrease in adoptable infants. To begin, the Guttmacher journal said: “the number of abortions rose from 91 000 in 1957 to 175 000 in 1970 then fell to 130 000 by 1975; the decline of 1970 convicted with the legalization of abortions“ (Marianne Bitler, 2013). This shows that the legalization of abortions had quite a negative effect on adoptable babies witch leave those in need of a child with less. Secondly, adoption may be the better option as there are more families then there is available kids.
